Group Activity Cards

Use groups of 3.
Materials: Compass, straightedge, index cards, tracing paper
Triangle Trade

Each group of 3 should have 3 index cards. Each group will construct 3 triangles, one per card. Next, each group of 3 should exchange index cards with another group.

Using only a compass and a straightedge, each group should construct triangles congruent to the set of triangles on the index cards. The group must show the marks that they used to construct the triangles on their papers. When all three constructions are complete, use tracing paper to copy each original triangle for comparison with each newly constructed triangle.

Exchange with other groups and continue practicing the construction of congruent triangles.
