Listen to the Song
- Play "Silent
Space."
- At 0:45 in the audio file, you will hear the chorus.
Listen for your starting pitch and sing along. Notation for the chorus
is shown below.
Recognize Musical Texture
- Play "Silent
Space" again and listen for the textures, or layers of sound.
- Note how the musical texture changes when the chorus
enters. The bass and drum patterns change. Other instrumental parts
are added as well, helping the chorus have dramatic impact when it enters.
- On your worksheet, answer Section 1 to apply what
you have learned to the dramatic change in a favorite piece of music.
