Section 2: Analyze How Texture Creates Mood

Hear Six Electronic Textures

• Listen to the six electronic textures several times to examine the different musical textures. Pay attention to how each texture uses electronic sounds.
• In Section 2 of your worksheet, record your reactions to the textures.
• Think about images or settings that seem appropriate to each of these sounds.
• Use the space on your worksheet to describe these images.

• Listen to the following three rock arrangements of the main song. Each one brings together two of the textures you heard above.

• If necessary, listen again, and then select the arrangement that has a pair of electronic textures you want to use in the song. Consider how each pair of textures influences the mood of the song and how it helps convey the meaning of the lyrics.
• On your worksheet, use the space in Section 2 to explain your choice.
