Practice the Song

• Play "Black to Gray" again and sing along with the melody when the vocalist enters at 0:27. The lyrics and notation are provided below. Use your falsetto or head voice if necessary.

• Did you notice that each line starts on the first beat of a measure?
• Practice singing along with the audio file until you are comfortable with the meter.

Match Lyrics and Vocal Tone

• Sing the lyrics again, as cued by the guide vocal part at 1:00. Experiment with singing in a soft, breathy vocal tone that complements the mood of the song.
• Complete Section 2 on your worksheet to describe how well the lyrics and the "feel" of the song complement each other.
