Module 1: What's for Lunch!
A Study of the Chemistry of Life
Description
In this module, students will learn about synthesis, variety, and
metabolism of the three major biochemical families: carbohydrates,
lipids, and proteins. Students will learn how energy is transferred
from sunlight to plants and other organisms that depend on them,
how the physical environment affects the growth of crops, how food
is digested, and what makes a healthful diet. The gas laws will
be examined through the study of popcorn and bread making.

For each investigation, the science or sciences that form the principal
focus of that investigation are noted.
