Module 10: Turn Left at Alpha Centauri

A Study of Space and the Universe

Description
In this module students will learn about the forces that have shaped the stars, this solar system, and the universe. Students will investigate how gravity keeps the planets and moons in their orbits. Students will apply these principles to the formation of galaxies, stars, and planets, and will use what they learn to understand current models of the origin and future of the universe.

Investigations
For each investigation, the science or sciences that form the principal focus of that investigation are noted.

Investigation 1: Living High Biology and Earth/Space
Investigation 2: Off the Scale Physics
Investigation 3: Balancing Act Physics and Earth/Space
Investigation 4: Creating Craters Physics and Earth/Space
Investigation 5: Worlds of Color Chemistry and Physics
Investigation 6: What It Takes to Be a Star Physics and Earth/Space
Investigation 7: Finding the Pattern Earth/Space
Investigation 8: Light from Far, Far, Far, Far, Far, Far Away Physics and Earth/Space
