Science Probe I Technology Activities
Chapter 1
Internet
Locate a site on the Internet in which scientists will answer
questions, either in a web discussion site or by e-mail. Ask a scientist
how variables are chosen, how a control is used, what role observations
play in experiments, and how data is recorded in an experiment. Prepare
a multimedia presentation that demonstrates to your classmates how the
scientist uses these in designing and performing experiments.
Application Software
Activity 1B – Do an Internet search
to find information about a branch of science in this activity with which
you are unfamiliar. When this is completed, use an Internet search program
(search engine) to find information about a related career. Print the
results of your search and secure them in your SCIENCE PROBE Logbook where
you win answer the discussion questions.
Activity 1C – Use a word processing
program to prepare the list of process skins. When you have completed
your list, use a presentation software program to present your list of
process skills for comparison with the lists prepared by other students.
Print the results of your work, and secure them in your SCIENCE PROBE
Logbook where you will answer the discussion questions.
