Choose a nutrient, carbohydrates, fats, proteins, minerals, vitamins, or fiber and conduct an Internet search. Your search should provide answers to the following questions:

a.What foods provide a good source of the nutrient?
b.Which organs or tissues in your body use this nutrient?
c.How does each organ or tissue use this nutrient?
d.How much of this nutrient is required daily in your diet?

It might also be helpful to correspond through e-mail or talk in a web discussion site with a nutritionist to get your answers. Prepare a multimedia presentation to inform your classmates of what you have learned. Below is a web site to get you started:

Activity 6B – Use a word processing program to set up the table as directed in this activity; key your notes as you read the sections directed in this activity. Transfer these notes to a presentation program such as Microsoft® PowerPoint to share the notes with your classmates.

Activity 6D – Use a graphics or presentation program to design the sales advertisement for the nutrient you chose in this activity. A brochure, an animated sequence, a cartoon, or a video sequence could all be part of the presentation. Make your presentation to the class using this program.

Activity 6E – Conduct an Internet search for the information needed on this activity. Use a word processing program or desktop publishing program to prepare a pamphlet to present to your classmates.

Activity 6F – Use a video camera to record the changes in the different bread samples as the experiment progresses. At the end of the activity, present this video to the class for comparison of results.
