Science Probe II Technology Activities

Chapter 1

Internet

Using the Internet, find one of the search engines (programs) with links to an "Ask the Scientist" or similar feature where scientists can be contacted. Send the scientist a message, asking how he/she uses the scientific method in research projects. Use a similar method to contact two other scientists and ask the same question. Prepare a presentation to share what you have learned with your classmates. Below is a web site to get you started:

Yahoo!® Science: Ask an Expert

Application Software

Activity 1C – Use a word processing program to make the science cards needed for this activity. Set up a two-column table, and space the rows so that they are about 4 cm in height. Key the questions, print the document, and duplicate the sheet so there are enough copies for your group. Cut out the cards for distribution to the group.
