1. Find a site on the Internet that displays satellite images of the Earth. Locate images that contain the area where you live. Find images that show:

a.Geologic features.
b.Weather conditions.
c.Biotic (living) features.
d.Mineral deposits.

Download the images onto your computer, and use these images in a multimedia presentation to show your classmates what you have learned about your area.

2.Locate sites on the Internet that have images of the moon, other planets, and comets that were taken by fly-by satellites such as Voyager, Mariner, or Pioneer. Look for images that show the best detail of surface features for at least five objects. Download these images onto your computer. Use these images in a multimedia presentation to show your classmates what you have learned. Below is a web site to get you started:

Activity 2B – Use a spreadsheet program to make the data table as directed in this activity. Record the data in the spreadsheet as you perform the activity. Print the final spreadsheet data table, and secure it in your SCIENCE PROBE Logbook where you will answer the discussion questions.
