The World Factbook (http://www.odci.gov/cia /publications/factbook/ country-frame.html) contains valuable statistical data on every country in the world. Prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the site contains easy-to-use information that can be very helpful to social studies students.
To use the site, simply click on the country you are researching. You’ll find a map of the country; a picture of its flag; and information on its geography, people, government, economy, communications, transportation, and military. The people section provides estimates of population and population growth, the distribution of the population by age group, infant mortality, birth and death rates, life expectancy, nationality, ethnicity, languages, and religions.
