Chapter 5: Nature vs. Nurture

Some people would say the world makes us the way we are, and others would say we are born the way we are. Despite all of the advances in human knowledge, this topic is still hotly debated today. Evidence exists supporting both points of view, suggesting the answer may not be entirely nature or nurture, but a combination of both.

Research the topic more thoroughly. Explore the "Nature/Nurture" feature on the BBC Web site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/genes/who_am_i/
nature_nurture/walk_of_life.shtml.
Write a mock debate on the issue in which you assume the identity of two people and argue both for and against each point of view. Do these two individuals come to an agreement, or does the debate have no resolution? Cite evidence from your research to support both points of view.
