"Poverty Then and Now"

Introduction
Students have read about President Johnson's war on poverty. In this lesson, students will examine poverty statistics.

Lesson Description
Students will visit the U.S. Census Bureau Web site and examine a line graph that tracks poverty in America from the 1960s through 1998. They will then answer questions based on the graph.

Instructional Objective
Students will be able to interpret a line graph in order to answer questions about it.
