Welcome to the Gettysburg Homepage
Click on http://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/gettysburg/ to read about the famous Battle of Gettysburg. Browse through this Web site to learn detailed accounts about each day of the battle. Imagine you are a soldier fighting on the side of either the Confederacy or the Union. In a letter dated July 4, 1863, write home and describe your part in the battle using specific historical references. For instance, were you part of Pickett's Charge, or were you on the Union side watching the Confederates attack? Were you at Devil's Den, or were you looking down from the Little Round Top? Describe the fighting, the terrain, the sounds, the smells, the heat, and the horrors of death.
