Looking Forward to a Successful Career
Jay D. Helsel
Drafting skills are important! The
skills you develop as a board drafter or CAD operator in your educational
program will serve you well in the drafting, design, engineering, and
other related fields. The better you develop those skills in school,
the greater are your chances of finding that first job and being successful
in it.
However, in addition to the basic drafting skills,
you will need other skills that, in many respects, are equally important.
These skills are generally known as employability skills. For
example, employees who are enthusiastic, display a positive attitude,
and take pride in their work will no doubt find success and happiness
throughout their careers. The many other employability skills that are
discussed throughout Mechanical Drawing: Board & CAD
Techniques are equally important. Read about them, study
them, understand them, and make them a part of everything that you do
in preparing for a successful career.
The following is a list of these special qualities
that you should review periodically as you work through the school year.
Remember that these are an important part of your education and are
important to your chances for a successful career.
