Objective
- Familiarize
students with the practical aspects of
planning a trip on the TGV from Paris
to another city in France
Notes
- Students
will have to choose as their destination
a city currently served by the TGV. They
can easily make their selection from the
map of the TGV system, which provides
the information visually.
- Students
have learned, if they have read the Lecture
supplémentaire in Chapter 9, that trains
leave from different stations in Paris
depending on what direction they are going
in. As is the case in real life, selecting
the correct Paris train station from which
to board your train is impossible unless
you know what part of France the city
you've chosen is in. The activity in this
way reinforces practical knowledge of
Paris as well as French geography.
