Your Spanish class is planning to put on an exhibition
of paintings by artists from the Spanish-speaking
world. Each student is responsible for a section
of the exhibition. You have to find two works from
Hispanic museums that illustrate a theme of your
choice. Before you begin your exploration of the
museums, answer the questions on your worksheet.
They should help you come up with a theme and focus
your search.
When
you choose a theme for your section of the show,
you might like to focus on an artist you like
or a subject (animals, flowers, people, etc.)
that interests you. Or you may simply prefer to
choose two paintings that have the same colors--it's
up to you. Jot down a couple of ideas for your
theme on your worksheet and then head off to the
museums. You may discover that your ideas change
as you look at the paintings.
