Alexandra Nechita

Alexandra Nechita, (neh-chee-tah) a child prodigy painter, is the daughter of Niki
Nechita. Niki escaped from communist Romania, leaving behind his wife, Viorica,
who was six months pregnant with Alexandra. Two years later, mother and daughter
joined him in Los Angeles.
Nechita paints urban street scenes on six-foot canvases that are packed with colorful
Cubist images that call to mind the work of Picasso and Klee. Her pictures can cost
$50,000 and have found their way into the homes of Melissa Etheridge, Ellen
DeGeneres, and Lee Iacocca. She is also the subject of a new coffee table book,
Outside the Lines. She has appeared on CNN and CBS Sunday Morning.
