Task

From the list below, chose one location for you and your family of 4. You have a maximum of 7 days for the trip. Your family has a budget of $6,000. Find how far it is from your house and calculate the cost it is to drive and/or fly. Find a hotel and tourist attractions and while using the family budget, plan a 3 day itinerary.
Create a presentation that will include the different components of your family's vacation.

Process

Begin by choosing one of the five destinations below.

Orlando, Florida
Williamsburg, Virginia
Oahu, Hawaii
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Las Vegas, Nevada

Search the Internet for different transportation prices. You need to search the Internet for airfare/gas costs that will match up with your family's destination. Pay close attention to how many days your vacation will be.
Once you have located your vacation and travel, plan your activities and create an itinerary for your family. An itinerary is a written document that explains exactly what your family will be doing at different times during their trip.
After you have created an itinerary, create a table that includes:
the name of each activity,
the location of each activity,
the price per person (if available), and
the total cost of each activity.

Now it is time for you to share your vacation with your classmates. Create a visual presentation that includes:

Your family's itinerary,
A spreadsheet that includes your transportation, lodging and activities,
a travel brochure for your vacation destination, and
A paragraph describing why you chose your vacation spot.

Guidance
    1a.  When searching for activities to participate in, type the name of the place you will be visiting into the search engines. Looking for a city or state's Web page is always a good idea.
           Also, look at your lodging Web site and see if it has any suggestions about activities to participate in.
    1b.  When calculating the cost of transportation, use the following table to organize the miles and cost of gas.
