A Complete Woodworking Program

The latest edition of Wood Technology & Processes by Mark Feirer is available. This textbook program presents woodworking concepts and skills in ways that are easy to apply. Step-by-step procedures guide users through various woodworking operations. The Wood Technology & Processes program provides a variety of print and electronic materials to supplement the student edition.

Student Edition
Wood Technology & Processes contains forty chapters of woodworking information and techniques. Each chapter presents key concepts and emphasizes the safe use of woodworking machines and tools. The text also includes the Woodworker's Handbook, filled with pictures and descriptions of tools. "Advanced Woodworking Techniques" is a new section that has been added. In addition, several new Better Homes and Gardens WOOD Magazine projects have been added.

Student Workbook
The Student Workbook includes supplemental worksheets for each chapter and safety worksheets for each of the major woodworking machines. Science and mathematics activities are also included to promote connections between academic subjects and woodworking tasks. New features include woodworking activities, tips and techniques, along with additional WOOD Magazine projects.

Teacher Resource Guide
The Teacher Resource Guide provides teaching aids and suggestions to help in planning, teaching, and assessing woodworking lessons. It contains an instructional plan for each chapter, along with handouts, tests, and answer keys. Also included is the complete text of all the WOOD Magazine projects shown in the student textbook.

Teacher Productivity CD-ROM
The Teacher Productivity CD-ROM provides more resources for preparing lessons, creating tests, and teaching students woodworking materials and processes. Instructional plans in Microsoft Word® can be adapted to meet teaching needs. PowerPoint® presentations on safety will guide students in using tools and equipment properly. The ExamView® Pro Test Generator enables teachers to create customized tests by choosing from the test banks or adding their own questions.

Online Learning Center
The Online Learning Center (coming in August) provides interactive safety quizzes and math activities that can be completed online. Results can be printed or e-mailed to the instructor. Woodworking posters can be printed for display in the classroom. Also provided are woodworking news articles and links to Web sites that are useful for woodworkers.
