National Consortium on Health Science
and Technology Education
NCHSTE is a national partnership of individuals and organizations
involved with health science and technology education. The
site provides information about skill standards for the health
care labor force. Eleven foundation standards provide the
core standards for all students in the field of health care.
Pathway standards then divide health care careers into five
categories, or career pathways.
Health Occupations Students of America
HOSA provides a program of leadership development, motivation,
and recognition for students enrolled in health occupations
education programs.
Association for Career and Technical Education
ACTE is a national education association that helps prepare
youths and adults for careers.
Skills USA
This national organization helps train students for health
occupations, as well as other technical, skilled, or service
occupations, through activities and contests.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
This resource describes what workers do on the job, working
conditions, training and education needed, earnings, and expected
job prospects in a wide range of occupations. It is updated
every two years.
O*NET OnLine
The O*NET database includes information on skills, abilities,
knowledge, work activities, and interests associated with
occupations.
American Association of Medical Assistants
The AAMA provides support for medical assisting professionals.
Members include practicing medical assistants (administrative,
clinical, office managers), medical assisting educators, students
and others interested in the profession. The Certifying Board
of the AAMA awards the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
American Medical Technologists
AMT is a national agency that certifies a variety of types
of health practitioners. The organization also provides membership
programs to enhance professional and personal growth.
